Ferdinando D’Avenia is, currently and since 2000, visiting professor in the department of Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry at Parma University in Parma (Italy). He also serves, as post-graduate lecturer, 2 dental schools beyond Parma University (Advanced Oral Implantology): the University of Ferrara – Italy (Advanced Oral Implantology) and the University of Geneva – Switzerland (Bone Augmentation). He completed his DDS degree at the University of Parma in 1988 and was then formed in Implantology and Fixed Prosthodontics under the chair of Prof. P. Shaerer in Zurich.
His main research interests involve bone and soft tissues augmentation surgical techniques, bone grafting materials and guided bone regeneration in implant dentistry. He is a member of the European Association of Osseointegration, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Academy of Periodontology and the Italian Society of Periodontology.
Runs his private practice in Parma, D’Avenia Dental Clinic, with specific focus on advanced implant therapy.
