Born in 1975 in Thessaloniki having both French and Greek nationalities, Alexander Tzovairis practices Periodontology and Implantology exclusively since 2002 in Greece, Luxembourg and in Belgium where he currently resides. He speaks Greek, French and English fluently. He obtained his DDS degree at the Dental School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001 and his Master degree in Periodontics at the Catholic University of Leuven - Brussels in 2007.
Since then, he attended several Master courses to enhance his specialisation in the fields of minimal invasive Periodontics and Implantology.
He is currently an active contributor in case report publishing in various media platforms and peer reviewed journals and a speaker in international congresses. His areas of interest include the use of lasers in Periodontology and Implantology, Socket preservation with novel approaches, Osseodensification and innovative protocols in implantology for bone and soft tissue optimisation. He is an external consultant of the Periodontics department at the dental school of the the Catholic University in Brussels (UCL). His main contribution in Implantology is Optimised Implant therapy via various modern strategies. He is one of the few clinicians worldwide mastering the SPOT Versah Protocol for Partial Extraction Therapy.
He is a key opinion leader for Innovato Holdings (VPI System) and Devemed Instruments. He is coauthor of the Cervical Socket plug technique (Valavanis et al 2021) and the author of the Poncho Lamina technique for single (Tzovairis et al 2022) and multiple implant sites (Tzovairis et al 2023).
At the present time he is investigating new approaches in soft and hard tissue management for optimising regenerative treatments in edentulous atrophic implant sites (O.S.O. And S.I.T.E.O. Processes) through both analog and digital workflows.
