Dr. Fabio Bernardello
M.D. graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1990 and specialized in Histology at University of Verona (Italy) in 1994. He attended a Post-graduate Course in Endodontics in 1995 at University of Verona, and a second Post-Graduate Specialization Course in Implantology at University of Modena (Italy) in 2008.
He attended to several surgery and implantology training courses both in Italy as well as abroad, especially regarding sinus lift surgery, stability of marginal bone around implants, immediate loading, Guided Bone Regeneration techniques and focused on graft materials histology. He is author and co-author of 38 publications on international indexed and peer-reviewed journals.
He is author of 3 chapters of the book “Bone Augmentation by Anatomical region” Author Zvi Artzi (Wiley Blackwell Publishing 2020), author of a chapter of the book “Clinical Osseointegration and bone regeneration” Author Prof Massimo Simion (Quintessence Publishing 2021) and co-author of the book “Guide to implant-prosthetic rehabilitation of the atrophic posterior maxilla”, Authors Claudio Stacchi, Fabio Bernardello, Teresa Lombardi and Sergio Spinato (Edra Edizioni 2021). Speaker at many national and international events, meetings and congresses, is lecturer also in various Italian Universities (Verona, Padova, Genova, Trieste, Bologna, Milan, Brescia, Pisa, Rome, Catanzaro, Bari) and foreign Universities (Krakow and Warsaw in Poland) with lectures mainly focused on “crestal sinus lift surgery in atrophic sites”, “decision tree in sinus lift”, “pros and cons in the use of different graft materials” and “behavior of machined and rough surfaces in different clinical situations”.
Private practitioner as implantologist in Legnago, Verona, Italy, was Visiting Professor for Oral Surgery in School of Dentistry of Bologna (“Alma Mater Studiorum”) and Bari (“Aldo Moro”) Universities. Actually collaborates with School of Dentistry of Verona, Trieste and Bologna Universities for publication of research papers and as lecturer and tutor for graduating students.
Board member and active member of IPA (International Piezoelectric Academy) since 2017. Winner of Charles E. English Award for the year 2020 with the paper: “Influence of abutment height and vertical mucosal thickness on early marginal bone loss around implants: A randomized clinical trial with an 18-month post-loading clinical and radiographic evaluation. Sergio Spinato, Claudio Stacchi, Teresa Lombardi, Fabio Bernardello, Marcello Messina, Sergio Dovigo, Davide Zaffe. Int J Oral Implantol 2020;13(3):279-290.” The prize has been awarded by ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantologists).
